Car crashes through fence, hits tree

EMERGENCY services responded to a single-vehicle accident in Gnotuk on Wednesday which saw a man and a woman taken to hospital.

Units from the Country Fire Authority (CFA), State Emergency Service (SES), Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria were called to a property along the Princes Highway in Gnotuk on Wednesday, March 5.

A Victoria Police spokesperson said police were investigating the circumstances behind the incident.

“It is understood a car left the Princes Highway, went through a fence then crashed into a tree just after 12noon,” the spokesperson said.

“The male driver was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

An Ambulance Victoria spokesperson said paramedics responded to the incident at around 12noon.

“A man in his 60s was transported to Warrnambool Public Hospital in a stable condition after being treated for upper body injuries,” the spokesperson said.

“A woman in her 40s was airlifted to the Royal Melbourne Hospital.”
