Car show goes ahead despite heat
WITH temperatures rising to 40 degrees on Saturday, conditions were hot for the annual Guzzlers Car Club Inc Prison Break Weekend at Camp Cooriemungle.

The event offered an opportunity for car enthusiasts from all over to show off their toys and rare vehicles, including cars, motorcycles and anything else with an engine.
Guzzlers Car Club Inc president Anthony Love said numbers were down this year thanks to the high temperatures, but it wouldn’t stop them from having a good time and soaking up the good vibes of the show.
“The aim of this car show is to get likeminded people together with a common interest and have a good day out and raise money for charity, the Western District Food Share,” he said.
“The crowd is way down compared to previous years – the weather has scared a lot of people away.
“Some of the clubs that were going to come have a standing rule that if it gets over 40 degrees they don’t bring their cars out.
“Being a total fire ban day is has scared a lot of people away.
“Normally we’re chockers in here and flowing out the back, so we’re way down today, but the atmosphere is still up.”
Mr Love said the day was about sgiving back to charity, so despite numbers being down, they still had a great time.
“We’ve got a duet playing and after that we’ve got a full band coming on to play into the night,” he said.
“We’ve got an auction where we auction donated goods from some of our sponsors and everything we make out of that auction, 100 per cent of it goes towards Western District Food Share.
