Carols in Timboon

TIMBOON will be alight with Christmas tunes next Saturday as Carols in the Amphitheatre takes over.

On Saturday, December 20, Timboon Entertainment, Arts and Music (TEAM Inc) will be presenting the event from 7pm-11pm, encouraging residents to come along for a night of music for all to enjoy.

TEAM Inc president Tamara Gunn said the night was gearing up to be spectacular.

“We’re more focusing on the music side of things so we’ve got the queen of country carols, Andrea Weel – she’ll be getting in there with some great renditions of more traditional carols,” she said.

“Some students get to strut their stuff on stage at the start and there is a couple of bands that Andrew Deppeler is going to organise from the school and they’ll have an opportunity to get up on a full stage with all the instruments and bands and everything.

“Later on in the night, together with some dedicated locals, we’re putting together a band called the Bell’s Angels and we’ll be singing some Christmas inspired music with a full band.

“That will go for about an hour or hour and a half.”

There will be food stalls open from 6.30pm, and Santa and Mrs Claus will be arriving from around 8-8.30pm.

Mrs Gunn said there would be plenty of activities for kids to enjoy.

“Michele Fratantaro is going to be doing some crafty things with the kids and WonderSense will be there with the slime trays to do some awesome stuff with the littlies,” she said.

“Don’t miss out on this exciting event in the lead-up to Christmas so be sure to mark this one in the calendar and show up on the night ready to join in the Christmas spirit.”

There will also be a program available, encouraging attendees to sing along to Christmas carols and spread the festive cheer.
