Held by the Camperdown Theatre Company and the Lakes and Craters Band, the evening involved a choir of 20, band of 30 and several local performers to round out the program.

Local artists included the Community House Choir, Michael Saunders, Eric Reed and more.

Carols by Candlelight organiser Toby McKenzie said he was grateful for the community support shown for the event.

“It is always a great night and it was fantastic to see the theatre full of enthusiastic carollers,” he said.

“We thank everyone for coming and hope everyone enjoyed the festive cheer.

“Over $400 and a collection of food has been donated to Camperdown Food Bank thanks to the generous support of the carols audience, a great show of community spirit.”

Lakes and Craters band conductor Jane McSween acknowledged the time given to prepare the carols each year.

“Our performers, whether they be in the band, choir, guest artists or accompanists, put in many hours over many weeks and we thank them very much for their dedication and commitment in providing a top-notch community event,” she said.

“Adding in some wonderful audience singing is always a highlight for us so we thank the community for joining in.”

Camperdown carols by Candlelight is an annual tradition and is one of the longest running Carols events outside Melbourne.

The Camperdown Theatre Company and Lakes and Craters Band have been running the event since 2019.
