The celebrations kicked off with a parents v kids cricket match, followed by a roast dinner before their vote counts and awards.

“It was a terrific night overall,” Woorndoo president Damien Clifford said.

“Everybody had a game of cricket with a kids versus adults game which was a lot of fun.”

In his first season at the club, all-rounder Jarryd Walsh took out the Cricketer of the Year award for the division one premier team.

Winning by one vote from Tyler Schafer, Walsh scored 331 runs at an average of 23.64, while taking 29 wickets at 20.00.

Schafer took out the batting award with 412 runs at 37.45, with Rhys Casson winning the best team player award and Jacob Gray the most improved.

The prestigious Alan Noone Memorial Club Person of the Year award went to Rhys Casson.

“That’s a real credit to Rhys for everything he’s done throughout the year,” Clifford said.

“He’s been pretty selfless throughout the whole year, he gives his all in every aspect and just goes about it with no fuss.”

The Tigers are already looking toward next season.

“We’re doing our best to improve for next year, hopefully we can hold onto what we’ve got, plus get a few more,” Clifford said.

“There is a lot of positives from the season, we are talking to players and are serious about rising to be one of the teams in the mid table group in the Colac-South West premier competition.”
