Catch a free movie these holidays
CORANGAMITE Shire Council will be bringing free movies back to the region these school holidays, with four family-friendly films at Camperdown’s Theatre Royal.
Corangamite Shire Council acting manager economy and prosperity Samantha Fox said young people and families would be able to enjoy the full cinema experience, with popcorn and refreshments for sale.
Entry to screenings is free.
“A trip to the movies is a classic school holiday activity, and we’re bringing that to Corangamite at no cost,” Ms Fox said.
“We’re putting on a mix of well-known favourites and newer releases, giving families plenty to enjoy.
“Bring the kids along, pick a session and enjoy a fun day at the movies right here in Corangamite.”
The first showing on Wednesday, July 1 will feature a showing of Smurfs from 10.30am.
When Papa Smurf is taken by two wicked wizards, Smurfette leads the Smurfs on a mission to the real world to save him.
The screening of Madagascar will follow at 1.30pm.

Wednesday, July 8 will see a regional favourite on show from 10.30am, when the Warrnambool-filmed Oddball hits the screen.
An Aussie chicken farmer and his granddaughter train their cheeky dog Oddball to protect a penguin sanctuary from foxes.
Grand Prix of Europe will then follow at 1.30pm.
A young mouse with big dreams jumps at the chance to race in the Grand Prix, facing sabotage and proving even the smallest racer can have a big impact.
