Cause of truck accident under investigation

A TRUCK driver had a lucky escape on Monday after rolling his truck near Lismore.

A TRUCK driver had a lucky escape on Monday after rolling his truck near Lismore.

Camperdown Police Acting Sergeant Don Camilleri said the accident occurred on the Lismore-Scarsdale Road at about 10.30am.

“The driver was travelling north,” he said.

Act Sgt Camilleri said Warrnambool Highway Patrol was investigating the incident.

“For unknown reasons he’s gone off the road,”he said.

“He was taken via ambulance for observation at Geelong Hospital.

“He was very lucky. It rolled onto the driver’s side.

“The SES had to take the windscreen off to get him out.”

Act Sgt Camilleri said police, ambulance, SES and CFA attended the accident.

In other police news, police detected three drink-drivers in Camperdown over the weekend.
