C’down college celebrates learning
CAMPERDOWN College showcased a variety of opportunities and experiences for students during Education Week.

CAMPERDOWN College showcased a variety of opportunities and experiences for students during Education Week.
The activities aligned with this year’s theme Active Learners: Move, Make, Motivate.
Junior campus events coordinator Lauren Murphy said students participated in activities which saw smiles, enjoyment and enthusiasm promoted, while families were able to see what made Camperdown College “so very special”
“Many guests came through the door to share in our celebrations at both campuses,” she said.
“One special guest was Emma Stenhouse, a local Indigenous artist, who worked with many students at both the Senior and Junior Campuses on understanding the story behind Indigenous art and how to tell their own story through a connection with nature and art.
“A beautiful mural was designed and created by our talented students who worked closely with Emma in telling our school’s story and our connection to the beautiful country that is Camperdown.”
Students from the college’s secondary campus also visited the junior campus, demonstrating their use of Rubik’s cubes.
Ms Murphy said senior campus students Lewani Bateman, Leilah Bateman and Fletcher Tolland treated junior students to a demonstration as part of lunchtime celebrations.
“Students were amazed by this talent and were motivated to get their Rubik’s cubes out at home,” she said.
“Students then enjoyed a fun fitness session with Hanna from Fleming Fitness the next day at lunchtime.
“Students were also offered a variety of activities later in the week that included plaster paintings, karaoke and making friendship bracelets.
“Thank you to all who volunteered their time and our students, leaders and staff who were involved in activities.”
