Celebrating mixed media
AN artist with a passion for branching into different media will be this month’s focus artist at the Corangamite Arts Shed.
As part of the artist of the month campaign, which started last month, Corangamite Arts will focus on one member artist and display their works throughout the month.
Barb Minehan is the artist of the month for April, with a fondness of experimenting with various media.
“I do collage, paper clay, decorating objects, drawing, watercolours and even acrylic painting,” she said.
“It brings me a lot of joy. It lifts your soul.”
Mrs Minehan said she enjoys the social aspect of being a member of Corangamite Arts, sharing a space with like-minded people.
“We give support to one another, get ideas and get both positive and negative feedback – we need a bit of that sometimes to push us along,” she said.
Corangamite Arts president Sue Hollingsworth encouraged residents to visit during the weekly sessions on Thursday from 10.30am-2.30pm to view the works.
Residents are urged to enter the Camperdown Showgrounds through the gate at 2 Leura Street.
