The school hosted its annual celebration of mothers last Friday morning with fresh coffee, bacon and egg rolls and fruit all on the menu for students to enjoy with their mothers, grandmothers or special friends.

Terang College principal Kath Tanner said it was a beloved tradition to get families together to enjoy a breakfast together in a way which isn’t cost-prohibitive, while also heightening social connections among the Terang College school community.

“This is something we do every year, and have done so for a very long time,” she said.

“It’s a way to celebrate and strengthen the connections between the school and our families.

“We always get very strong involvement and we give all our mothers and special friends a coffee card so they can get a free coffee from our café.

“It’s pretty popular.”

Mrs Tanner said it was a highlight of the school calendar to see families enjoying quality time together while parents also had the opportunity to connect with each other to enrich the wider school community.

“I think we had 80 families booked in, which is a really good attendance rate,” she said.

“The families enjoy spending their time together, having a nice breakfast on a cold morning.

“It doesn’t get much better than that.”
