Celebrations for rural women
FEMALE farmers over the age of 18 are invited to this year’s ‘Women on Farms’ gathering in Hamilton.

Hamilton.
To be held on Friday, March 20 through to Sunday, March 22, this special event will feature Victoria Carey, editor of Graziher, as the keynote speaker.
Jessica Fishburn, a pelvic health and pain physiotherapist with a passion for education, equity and improving health outcomes for rural women, will also speak during the weekend.
Also on the program will be a talk from livestock consultant Meg Bell and renowned western district photographer Tracey Kruger will also share some stories.
The weekend has been many months in the planning and looks set to once again be a celebration of women in farming and the impact they have had, and continue to have, on rural businesses and lifestyles.
The jam-packed weekend will promote connection, conversation and practical inspiration.
Tickets will include Friday evening canapes, Saturday lunch and two course sit-down dinner, Sunday breakfast and morning and afternoon tea.
Add to that some powerful guest speakers, upskilling workshops, rural networking, garden tours and some real conversations with real women living rural lives and you’ve got something very special.
This year’s program includes something for every woman on the land whether they farm, work in agriculture, run a business or simply love their rural community.
Included among the workshops and activities will be a flower arrangement with Brooke from Meadowbrooke Farm, and the opportunity to learn basketmaking skills using natural, locally sourced fibres.
Participants will also be able to explore the heart of Hamilton with a fun, self-guided map-based treasure hunt around town – simply follow the clues, discover local highlights and you may even be lucky enough to win some goodies from local businesses.
Tickets are limited to this year’s ‘Women on Farms’ gathering and must be pre-purchased due to catering purposes.
