CAMPERDOWN Cricket Club celebrated two ‘centurions’ last weekend.

In Saturday’s round 11 clash against Ecklin, division one player John Reed notched up a quick-firing 119 runs from 115 balls in an innings that included 13 boundaries and two sixes.

Reed played a pivotal role in his side’s massive total of 10/317.

Other contributors to the scoreboard included lower order batsman Steven Fisher with a knock of 52, opener Dominc Absalom (38) and Nicholas Frith (27).

The Lakers also performed well in the field, containing Ecklin to 10/147 after 29 overs.

Nicholas Frith was effective at the crease, taking 5/27 off eight overs.

And in division two, the Lakers’ Mitch McLaughlin also celebrated a huge day with the bat, finishing unbeaten on 156 in Camperdown’s clash with Heytesbury/Princetown.

After winning the toss and electing to bat, the Lakers reached 4/309 over 30 overs.

McLaughlin was well supported by team-mate Troy McLaughlin who contributed 70 from 70 balls before being run out.

In reply, Heytesbury Princetown reached 7/310 in the final over.

Major contributors for the side were Beavan Castles (65), Steven Crees (54), Joh Nieuwenhuizen (52) and Ryan Jones (42).

Best of the bowlers for the Lakers was Mitchell McLaughlin with 2/39 from eight overs.
