CAMPERDOWN’S division one cricketers got their season off to a great start with a big win over Woorndoo last weekend.

Winning the toss and electing to bat, the Lakers made full use of their 50 overs to finish the day on 7-272.

Steven Fisher proved formidable with the bat, contributing 125 runs to the board from 74 balls.

This included 16 boundaries and three sixes.

Fisher was well supported at the crease by team-mate Harry Sumner whose knock of 60 from 95 deliveries included eight boundaries.

Also among the run scorers were John Reed with 21 and opener Luke Delaney who contributed 19.

In reply, the home side could only manage 9/88 from 29 overs thanks, in part, to the bowling efforts of Nicholas Frith who took 6-24 from nine overs and Steven Fisher 3-26 from 10.

Round two of South West Cricket this Saturday will see the Lakers at home at Bookaar.
