Challenge ahead for Tigers
WOORNDOO Mortlake has registered its third senior football win for the season with a 20.13.133 to 6.6.42 win at Great Western.

“It was just a fantastic all-round team performance, we really had 18 or 19 players who could have been put in the best players list,” a pleased Tigers coach Isaac Templeton said.
Woorndoo Mortlake put a heavy tag on Great Western gun Silver Yousif, the job falling to Ethan Mayhew.
“Ethan was brilliant, he really limited Yousif's effectiveness,” Templeton said.
The coach also praised Damien McCorkell for his big game, booting seven goals.
“Damien played deep forward and just gave us a fantastic target all day and was hard to stop,” Templeton said.
James Coghlan West with four goals and Jesse Horan with three also posed problems for the Lions defence.
This Saturday will see another big challenge for the third-placed Tigers, taking on second placed Lismore Derrinallum, also on three wins, at Derrinallum.
Woorndoo Mortlake had a big win in the reserves, 17.10.112 to 2.2.14.
Charles Kenny kicked five goals and Tim Ackerley four for the Tigers, that pair also named as best for the side.
Great Western was far too strong in the under 16.5 match, winning 28.15.183 to 0.1.1, with Zachary Dolling named best for the Tigers.
Great Western got the points in the A grade netball with a 40-38 win.
“It was disappointing to lose, we had a couple of players out which changed our normal combinations, but full credit to Great Western, they played hard and are a good side,” Tigers coach Bec Rohan said.
Rohan rated Sara Kosch as best for the Tigers.
“Sara continues to really step up every week, her defensive pressure is first rate,” she said.
Rohan said the forward duo of Nicole Anderson and Brooke Richardson (who has made the switch from defence this season) was “building nicely and presenting well”.
Goal attack Anderson shot 24 goals, while goal shooter Richardson contributed 14.
Great Western got the win in the B grade netball, 38-28.
Brodie Humphrey led the scoring for Woorndoo Mortlake with 16 goals.
Great Western won the C grade game 38-13, with Taylah Rohan scoring 10 of the Tigers’ 13 goals.
Woorndoo Mortlake got the win in the 18 and under netball, 28-25.
Ava Wardlaw, who made her A grade debut the week before, scored 17 goals.
Great Western was too good in the 15 and under game, winning 31-15, Natalie Krepp shooting seven goals for the Tigers, while Great Western also had a 21-9 win in the 13 and under netball.
