Championship win for Beasley
TERANG golfer Fred Beasley took home the prestigious KG Horne Trophy from last Sunday’s Western District Golf Association championships.

TERANG golfer Fred Beasley took home the prestigious KG Horne Trophy from last Sunday’s Western District Golf Association championships.
Held at the Hamilton golf course, the championships attracted the cream of the district’s players.
With a gross score of 115, Fred took out the under 21, 27-hole scratch event.
In Saturday golf at Terang, Ross Thomson proved to be the testing material, taking out the days’ stableford event with 36 points.
Runner-up, after a count back, was Michael Heffernan (21) 35 points.
Other leading scores included Gary Huebner (21) 35 points and Dan Morrison (16) 31 points.
Nearest the pins: 6th Bruce McLennan and 8th Martin Wynd.
Next Saturday’s event is stableford.
Tuesday “middies” 12-hole stableford was won by Gary Marr with 24 points.
Runner-up, after a count back, was Ross Thomson with 22 points.
Balls down the line, went to Billy Wood 22 points, Brian Carmody 21 points, Heather Holmes 17 points and Elaine Hrabar 17 points.
Next Tuesday will be a 12-hole stableford, 9am hit-off.
Nearest the pins were Billy Wood (6th) and Heather Holmes (18th).
