Children’s Market success for guides
CAMPERDOWN Girl Guides held a successful Children’s Market recently, with a variety of new and preloved children’s clothing, toys, games and even local crafts on offer.

Twenty-four stallholders gathered at the Guide Hall for the day, with many residents taking the opportunity to browse the wares on offer.
Guide leader Glenda McIlveen said the girl guides raised around $1500 through sales of hot dogs at the guide-run barbecue stall and booking fees for stallholders.
“Most comments from stallholders were that they were pretty happy with the patronage and the people coming through,” she said.
“Thank goodness it was a nice day, except for the wind.
“It’s something we might consider having again.
“We thought we would run a children’s market for something different – there’s a lot of markets on in town, so we thought we’d run something different to fundraise for the Girl Guides Support Group to help fundraise for the hall.”
Ms McIlveen extended her gratitude to the community for supporting the Children’s Market.
“The support group committee members put a lot of work into running the events, so I really appreciate their assistance in keeping girl guides going,” she said.
“Without them running events, we couldn’t fund the cost of the hall.
“I’m very appreciate for all the parents too for that.”
