The traditional Quota Friends of Rotary Carols by Candlelight will be held at the Cobden Civic Hall on Sunday from 7.30pm.

Cobden Carols organiser Fran Warden said she is looking forward to this year’s event.

“I enjoy the Carols by Candlelight,” she said.

“It’s a bit of a tradition in Cobden.”

Mrs Warden said there will be a variety of performers helping to make the night magical including:

  • The McKenzie Family;

  • Andrea Weel;

  • Helen and Ellie;

  • Lakes and Craters Band.

She said a wide range of songs will be sung on the night as well as resident Val Maynard reading Christmas poems.

“There will be plenty of community singing for those who like to have a sing-a-long,” Mrs Warden said.

Flameless candles will be available to buy on the night for $3 each

“There will be a cup of tea available at the end of the evening as well,” Mrs Warden said.

“People are welcome to stop and mingle after the carols.”

Mrs Warden thanked the Corangamite Shire Council for its support of the annual event.

“Thank you to the Corangamite Shire for their support; without the grant from them it wouldn’t be possible to hold the carols,” she said.
