Clear skies over the region though January
TERANG and Mortlake began 2025 under dry conditions, with rain gauges showing results well below the January average.

Terang started the year with 13.8mm of rain recorded in January, well below the long-term average of 39.7mm.
The vast majority of the rain was experienced on January 6, with 11mm hitting the ground.
The figure marks a shift from the previous year, with January 2024 seeing a thumping 78mm of rain hitting the ground.
Meanwhile in Mortlake, there was a slightly higher result with 16.6mm of rain recorded.
This, however, still fell short of the long-term monthly average for January of 36.2mm.
The highest daily rainfall was recorded on January 6, with 14mm hitting the ground.
Mortlake, as with Terang, only experienced rain on three days throughout the course of the month.
