HUNGRY locals have helped to celebrate a local landmark.

On Sunday, Camperdown Courthouse Committee with the support of the Camperdown Rotary Club and Camperdown CFA held a barbecue during the monthly Rotary market to celebrate the clocktower’s 125th anniversary.

Committee president Alison Byrne said more than $370 was raised from the barbecue which will be used for clocktower maintenanceand works.

“It was a beautiful sunny day,” she said.

“We were delighted to be able to partner with the Camperdown Rotary Club and Camperdown CFA."

“We are very pleased with the result. People were very generous.”

Ms Byrne encouraged residents interested in volunteering their time at the courthouse to call in and find out more.

“We really need ambassadors at the courthouse,” she said.

“We need people to do one two and a half hour shift each month."

“If everyone does a regular shift, it’s abig help.”

The Camperdown Courthouse is open between 10am-3pm seven days a week.
