Close game for div three
BOORCAN had the bye in round 10 of the South West Cricket Association division two competition last weekend.
Tomorrow the division two Dragons will host Pomborneit at Boorcan.
In division three last week, Boorcan had a two run loss to Woorndoo at Boorcan.
Batting first, the visitors posted 7/178 from their 40 overs.
Lila Horspole led the Boorcan bowlers with 3/8 from two overs, with Tim Castle, Ollie Horspole and Brendan Menz taking a wicket each.
In reply, the Dragons fell agonisingly short, making 4/176 from their 40 overs.
Tim Castle did his best to get his team over the line with 71 not out from 95 balls, including six boundaries.
Castle featured in a third wicket partnership of 98 with Tony Hassett, who made 49 from 65 balls.
Junior player Bailey Carman contributed 24 from 26 balls in the narrow loss.
This week the division three Dragons play Cobden on the Cobden turf.
In the under 13s on Monday night, Boorcan had a close win over Pomborneit at Pomborneit, 2/109 to 6/103.
This Monday the under 13 Dragons will host Cobden at Boorcan.
