Close game for Rhinos
TOP side on the Terang Table Tennis ladder, Rhinos, were pushed by the fourth-placed Battlers during their 6-5 win.
There were a number of close games, with Rhinos’ Tony Young and Vesha Chapagai winning two singles, John Rantall won one singles and then combined with Tony Young to win the doubles.
For Battlers, Mark Smith won all his singles and a doubles win with Peter Maina.
Maina also contributed a singles victory.
I Don’t Care returned to the winners list and may have put paid Ghanda’s chances of playing in the finals, winning 6-5.
Michael Pearson won all his singles and a doubles with Pat Nicholson.
Nicholson and Shai Karney won a singles each.
Ron Cook has slowly been returning to form and defeated Nicholson in a marathon game that saw very little between the two, winning 8-11, 12-10, 8-11, 12-10 and 13-11.
Tyler Smith, filling in for Callum McSween, also contributed two singles and a doubles win with Sandra Timmons.
