Close one for Demons
TIMBOON Demons will be looking to improve on their three wins from last year in season 2024.
Once again under the direction of senior coach Marcus Hickey, the Demons will be keen to notch up some early round wins.
Round one saw the Demons come within two goals of Allansford in front of a home crowd and last weekend, against Old Collegians, the Demons fell short of victory by 35-points to the improved Warriors side.
Final scores were Timboon 6.7.43 to Old Collegians 12.6.78.
Lyndon Alsop, Ash Hunt, Ben Newey, Charlie Trotter, Rhys Ziegelaar and Patrick Ryan were named among the best.
Thomas Hunt booted two goals for the Demons, while Darcy Bridgewater, Ben Newey, Eben White and Rhys Ziegelaar each contributed a goal.
Timboon’s reserves played well but fell just nine points short of a win, going down 5.4.34 to 6.7.43.
Best for the Demons were Daniel Shanahan, Bailey Delaney, Cory Collings, Rangi Vickers, Kristofer Gristede and Anthony Glennen.
Goals went to Cory Collins, Steven Crees, Bailey Delaney, Bayley Kelly and Jake Robbins.
Netball:
A grade: Timboon defeated Old Collegians 52-35.
A reserve: Timboon lost to Old Collegians 35-40.
B grade: Timboon defeated Old Collegians 30-20.
17 and under: Timboon lost to Old Collegians 26-28.
15 and under: Timboon lost to Old Collegians 19-23.
13 and under: Timboon defeated Old Collegians 36-0.
Round three this weekend will see the Demons at home to Panmure.
