Close prelim for junior Bloods
TERANG Mortlake’s under 16s football finals campaign ended last Sunday.

Despite a strong surge late in the game, the Bloods went down to the Warrnambool Blues by 10 points in the preliminary final at Cobden Recreation Reserve, 7.9.51 to 6.5.41.
The Bloods enjoyed a highly successful home and away season, finishing third on the Hampden League ladder with 12 wins and just three losses.
While the Bloods were kept scoreless in the opening quarter of last Saturday’s game, they worked hard in the second term and added 3.3 to the scoreboard to get within six points of the Blues at the main break.
The second half was a relatively even affair, with the Blues kicking 3.6 to the Bloods’ 3.2.
Best for Terang Mortlake in a great team effort were Tayte McMaster, Caleb Bamford, Sam Wareham, Kai Crawley, Arlo Herry and Zavier Fowler.
