THE Cobden and District Community Bank presents ‘Christmas Together’, an all ages, family friendly Christmas celebration this weekend.

Attendees can enjoy a relaxed afternoon with live music, food trucks, a visit from Santa and entertainment on Sunday from 3pm to 7pm at Apex Park in Cobden.

Bring a picnic blanket or camping chair and listen to Sharpy and Tamara from Rockit playing live on the lawn.

Enjoy a delicious wood-fired pizza, kebab, falafel or a schnitzel roll, grab a snag from the barbecue, a coffee and fairy floss or wander over to Thommo’s Hotel for a takeaway milkshake and cupcake.

Santa will be there giving away Bulla ice creams and lollies for the kids plus there will be spin art, sand wizard sand art, sidewalk chalk and face painting as well as the onsite playground.

Big kids and the young at heart are welcome to have a go too.

Attendees can write what they are grateful for on the gratitude wall or help paint a giant community artwork as part of the Cobden Connection and Kindness project.

Cobden’s business and economic development consultant, Laura Hultgren said those activities were so popular at Christmas in Curdie Street that organisers were bringing them back again “and the best part is there are no skills required”.

“We are encouraging everyone to pick up a piece of chalk or a paint brush and just have a go,” she said.

“The Cobden Business Network (CBN) has been working hard to bring you lots of festivities this Christmas.

“On behalf of the CBN I would like to thank the Cobden and District Community Bank, Corangamite Shire Council, Webber and Chivell Fertilisers, Greencon, CRT Hewitt and Whitty, Cobden Tools and Trailers, Cobden AB, Australia Post, Kooler Dairy and Bulla, who have all made this wonderful Christmas celebration possible.”

Christmas Together is happening at Apex Park in Cobden, on the corner of Shenfield Street and Victoria street, next to Lake Cobden.
