Cobden Orchid Show success
THE Cobden and District Orchid Club was in full bloom this month.
THE Cobden and District Orchid Club was in full bloom this month.
The club held a successful show over October 15 and 16.
Club member Denise Robertson said after what had been a difficult couple of years with the COVID pandemic it was pleasing to be back hosting the show.
“The Cobden and District Orchid Club is a small but enthusiastic group and with the help of our neighbours in the Warrnambool Orchid Club and the Colac Orchid Club added towards the success of our beautiful displays of orchids,”she said.
“Many members were congratulated on the great display with many saying they thought it was one of the best shows Cobden has put on.”
The Grand Champion Orchid was won by Don and Betty Stevenson with their Dendrobium – Australian Artist.
Two special awards were presented with the Mavis Rethus Memorial Trophy won by Rob and Jenny Rice and Bev Bant Memorial Trophy won by Rhonda Alexander.
