Machine-lover’s dream: Those who are a fan of vintage machinery will feel right at home at the Cobden Annual Vintage Rally this Labour Day weekend with many exciting tractors, motors and trucks on display, plus more.

Organised by the South Western District Restoration Group, the highly anticipated event will be held over two days – Saturday, March 8 and Sunday, March 9 – commencing 10am daily.

Secretary John Brown said the event has a lot to offer this year, most notably the auction as well as the E27N Fordson event.

“The auction is huge this year,” he said.

“It commences at 10am on Saturday and has a lot of items on offer.

“We also have a feature event with the E27N Fordson tractors, celebrating 80 years since the model was introduced to Australia.

“There will be a number of those tractors exhibited.”

With good weather on the forecast, food and drinks will be available, including a barbecue which will help raise money to cure cancer.

Besides tractors, attendees can expect household memorabilia, old tools, agricultural machinery, working displays, operating steam engines, and a vintage tractor pull.

“We’ll have radio-controlled boats on a dedicated pond,” Mr Brown said.

“There will be a live steam model railway as well.

“We have lots of good things to see, especially for the kids.

“With all the activities available for the children, it will make for a good family fun day.”

Across both days there will be multiple sheds open to display historical collections.

The annual rally will be held at 73 Grayland Street in Cobden.

Tickets are $15 per person, with children under 16 offered free admission.

South Western District Restoration Group are looking forward to a successful event.
