Cole places at national championships

TERANGS’s Funakoshi Karate dojo added to its recent run of results at the Australian Karate Federation Open Championships in Sydney last weekend.

TERANGS’s Funakoshi Karate dojo added to its recent run of results at the Australian Karate Federation Open Championships in Sydney last weekend.

Jill Cole finished in third place in the veteran ladies’ kata event, following on from two wins at the Australian Karate Federation state championships in February and six podium finishes at the National All Styles tournament in March.

Fellow member of the Funakoshi team, Warrnambool’s Garrin Williamson came third in the under 21 male black belt kata event, while Funakoshi chief instructor Frank McKenzie officiated as one of the event referees for the weekend.
