Colin clocks off for last time
LONG-TIME watch maker and Showcase Jewellers employee Colin Brian is calling time after 51 years in the industry.

Mr Brian began his career with the store on January 21, 1973, and last year reached 50 years of work with Showcase Jewellers.
He said he felt good about his decision to step away now and felt he was ready to move into retirement.
“I’m looking forward to sleeping in for a while until I work out what I’m going to do,” Mr Brian said.
“I haven’t made any decisions or any plans for doing anything – just have the first month and a half to two months bludging, then see what we’re going to do.
“I might catch up with my kids in Adelaide, do a bit of travelling over that way – there’s a few things I want to see over there.
“I’m not going to rush into doing anything until everything settles down.
“I’ll start doing a bit more next year.”
Mr Brian said he will miss the customers the most once he retires.
“Some of them have been very nice,” he said.
“Every day is different, and every repair is different.
“It’s just one of those things – you come to work, do the jobs, talk to the customers, try and help them, do your best and look after your boss’ interests.”
