Concerns heard by Dan Tehan
THE cost of power, the state of regional roads and state government debt were among the issues raised by residents when Member for Wannon Dan Tehan visited Camperdown last Thursday.

The visit was part of his Listening Posts, where he visits communities and hears concerns from residents directly.
Mr Tehan said 10 people visited him outside the Camperdown Post Office between 3.30-4pm, despite the cold conditions.
“With the roads, there’s the fantastic announcement by the Victorian opposition that they’ll put $5 billion into our local roads,” he said.
“With regards to the debt, we’ve got to make sure that we keep our communities strong, keep people in jobs and obviously make sure all the spending is done in a very sensible way.
“For cheaper energy, it’s a matter of making sure we use all our resources – our coal, our gas, our oil and our uranium – because we’ve got all this energy and sadly, for ideological reasons, the Labor party doesn’t want to use it.”

Mr Tehan said he enjoyed the opportunity to get out on the road and hear from constituents.
“I enjoyed mixing with the community,” he said.
“Camperdown is a wonderful town, and I love visiting every time I go because of the wonderful people and the wonderful community spirit.”
Mr Tehan said one of the more positive points raised was the dedication of June Gungl and Jane Hately, who are celebrating their retirement this week.
“On a more positive note, there was conversation about the wonderful service of the two ladies in the post office who are retiring soon,” he said.
“I want to give a shout out to June and Jane for their wonderful service with Australia Post.
“It was great to be able to call in and thank them for their wonderful service.”
