Consistency the key
CONSISTENCY remains the key for Timboon’s A grade netballers.

CONSISTENCY remains the key for Timboon’s A grade netballers.
Currently sitting seventh on the Warrnambool District ladder, with three wins, finals are still within reach of the Demons – if they can record a string of wins and have a little of bit luck swing their way.
Senior coach Carley Hickey said while the side slipped from sixth to seventh after a recent loss to South Rovers, they were still hopeful of making the finals series.
“It’s not out of reach but slipping to seventh does make the challenge that little bit tougher,” Hickey said.
“We were certainly a bit more confident when sitting just out of the five, but it’s not an impossibility."
“We just really need to work on our consistency. Our second quarter is when we tend to have a bit of a lapse and we let our opposition back into the game and then we’re playing catch-up.”
Hickey praised her side’s grit and determination on the court, but said the team needed to string four quarters of solid netball together to get more wins on the board.
“We start to really kick back into gear in the third quarter and come home strong in the fourth so we need to ensure we can maintain consistency for all four quarters.”
Hickey praised the efforts of her side who, for the majority, are enjoying their first season of A grade netball.
“This year most of our players are having their first season in A grade so I’m really happy with how they’re all going,” she said.
“If we can manage to sneak into the top five that would be amazing. We’ll just take each week as it comes and see how we go.”
