Corangamite calls for budding talent

CORANGAMITE Shire Council has put the call out for the region’s budding talents to demonstrate their creativity and their commitment to sustainability.

Corangamite Create and Sustain Youth Fest is set to be held on Sunday, September 21 at the Theatre Royal in Camperdown and talented youth are needed to put their best foot forward.

The event will include musical performances, an art exhibition, clothing swap, Young Makers Market and sustainable activities.

Mayor councillor Kate Makin called on young shire residents to get involved.

“We are looking for performers, whether you’re a solo musician, in a band, dancers or stand-up comedian or have any other talent,” she said.

“We’re also calling on artists to submit works for an exhibition.

“Council staff are organising artworks with schools, but if you’re not at school and would like to exhibit, we don’t want you to miss out on this opportunity.

“Young people interested in having market stalls at the event – including anyone interested in having a clothing swap stall – go to corangamite.vic.gov.au/youthfest and tell us what you’ve got to contribute to a fun and exciting day.

“It will be great to see everyone in Camperdown at the Theatre Royal from 1-3pm on Sunday, September 21.”
