Council welcomes Tiny Town funding

CORANGAMITE Shire Council has thanked the state government for funding Tiny Towns projects across the shire.

As Western District Newspapers reported last month, a number of community projects were funded under Round Three of the $20 million Tiny Towns Fund.

Among the projects was $50,000 to the Skipton Football Netball Club to go towards a new playground at the recreation reserve.

Mayor councillor Kate Makin said the Tiny Towns Fund was a much-welcomed source of funding to deliver projects, which otherwise would not be possible.

“Council is grateful for the government’s approval of our application and also congratulates the successful community organisations,” she said.

“Without community volunteer committees, these other projects wouldn’t become a reality.”
