TIMBOON’S senior footballers suffered a 55-point loss to Russells Creek last weekend.
Following a loss to Dennington in the season’s opening round and then a defeat at the hands of Nirranda the following week, the Demons are still searching for their first win of season 2023.
Travelling to Mack Oval last Saturday, round three proved another tough one for the Demons.
While the weather conditions were favourable, the visitors found it hard to convert on the scoreboard, managing just five goals for the game.
Final scores were Russells Creek 14.8.92 to Timboon 5.7.37.
Best for the Demons were Mitchell Wallace, Lachlan Rosolin, Henry Mackley, Ash Hunt, Sam Negrello and Tadgh Dwyer.
Henry Mackley had a consistent game to finish with three majors.
He was well supported by team-mates Ben Harding and Lachlan Rosolin who each kicked a goal.
The reserves also had a tough day out, going down to the home side by 95-points.
Final scores Russells Creek 18.12.120 to Timboon 4.1.25.
Among the best for the Demons were Jayden Stapleton, Ben Matthews, Sullivan Wallace, Campbell McKenzie, Bradley Little and Jeremy Doolan.
Goal scorers were Corey Collins (2), Cody Merrett and Darcy Tribe.
Timboon’s under 18 side were rewarded for effort with a huge 122-point win over Russells Creek, 19.14.128 to 1.0.6.
The young Demons showed plenty of skill and agility all over the ground.
It was a mixed bag of results for the Demons on the netball courts, with two wins, a draw and three games lost.
Results were as follows:
A grade: Timboon lost to Russells Creek 43-48.
A reserve: Timboon defeated Russells Creek 39-29.
B grade: Russells Creek defeated Timboon 45-26.
17 and under: Russells Creek defeated Timboon 43-20.
15 and under: Timboon drew with Russells Creek 18-18.
13 and under: Timboon defeated Russells Creek 12-10.
