Cricket club glams up
COLD weather did not deter residents from coming together last Friday night for the Winter Fashion Parade, which saw a strong crowd.

Nearly all tables of 10 were filled at Camperdown College on Friday, May 8 as the Bookaar Cricket Club hosted the fundraiser parade.
Fashion organiser Kirsty Green said the attendance on the night was huge.
“We had a few extra than what we had last year, so the response was really good,” she said.
“There were lots of people who hadn’t come before as well as those who came back because they had such a good time last time.
“It was very overwhelming.
“We had tables of people from Warrnambool, Colac, Cobden and Timboon.
“There are very few places where you can go with your girlfriends and have a nice cup of tea or glass of wine and not have music blasting meaning you can’t chat to your friends, so I thought it was really lovely there were lots of people with their friends who just sat back, relaxed and chatted.”
Seven models volunteered their time for the fashion parade, showing the latest in winter fashion as attendees enjoyed a drink and a conversation.
The fundraiser raised close to $5000 for the cricket club, which will go towards fitting out their new clubrooms with electricity and plumbing for use.
Ms Green said the club proved good hosts on the night, with members of the club behind the bar serving drinks throughout the night.
“The cricket club are unbelievable hosts – Tracy Baker and her army of helpers were just amazing,” she said.
“They did all the tickets, posters, set up the hall, did the bar and did all the food. The support was really good.
“Nights like this do not happen without an army, so for me and my co-workers, it wouldn’t have happened without them.
“I have a dear friend who helps quietly out the back as well, and my family who lugged clothes back and forth.
“I can’t thank them enough, and I can’t thank everyone enough for their support.”
