Crowds gather for new-look Prison Break Car show raises thousands for Food Share
THOUSANDS were raised for a local charity when Camp Cooriemungle transformed in to a paradise for vehicle lovers over the weekend.

The Guzzlers Car Club Inc’s annual Prison Break Weekend drew hundreds of eager viewers to get up close with some of the rarest, most unique vehicles from across the district.
The event, now in its seventh year, encourages those with a fondness for anything with an engine to ‘show off your toys’ – with everything from cars and bikes, to a motorised esky, on display.
Guzzlers Car Club Inc president Claude Love said he was thrilled with the success of the event, which this year moved the car show inside the site of the former Cooriemungle Prison Camp.
“We changed it up this year, actually going in the old prison,” he said.
“It’s worked out really well this year.
“We had good numbers – about the same as it was last year, with 100 cars and more than 300 people through the gate.”
Mr Love said the event raised $2500, all of which will be donated to Western District Food Share.
“We’re really happy with the day,” he said.
“We had people coming from everywhere – I think the furthest one was from Geelong.
“We had repeat offenders, but we also welcomed a lot of people who had not been before.
“But the feedback was really positive – some of the guys had mentioned how much they loved it.”
