Cuppa and a chat in Cobden
SCONES, tea and laughs were in ample supply at the Cobden Country Women’s Association (CWA) Devonshire tea on Monday.

SCONES, tea and laughs were in ample supply at the Cobden Country Women’s Association (CWA) Devonshire tea on Monday.
Group president Netty Hose said the morning was “just great” and represented a welcome return following two years of COVID disruptions.
“To see all the people together and enjoying the morning is what we wanted,” she said.
“We must say a big thank you to not only the people who came along, but the people working at the businesses in Cobden who supported us.
“We’ve had about 40 orders from businesses. We were really pleased.”
More than 40 people took time out to enjoy the Cobden CWA Devonshire tea which was held at the Cobden Uniting Church.
A stall was also held during the event selling a range of homemade goodies for people to purchase and enjoy at home.
Mrs Hose thanked the wider community for its support.
“We just wanted people to all come together and enjoy each other’s company,” she said.
“We really thank the community for supporting us. It achieved what we wanted to, which was to bring people together.”
