Curdies algae free again

THE Curdies River has been cleared of blue green algae.

Following the artificial river mouth opening blue green algae levels dropped and a second round of testing saw no blue green algae detected.

“The water is now safe for swimming, fishing and boating activities, but we continue to ask everyone to follow common sense and avoid contact with any discoloured water,” a Department of Energy,

Environment and Climate Action (DEECA) spokesperson said.

“Warning signs will be removed from the site and DEECA will continue monitoring.

“Please contact DEECA on 136 186 to report any potential algal blooms.”
