Curdies River Road works now complete
UPGRADE works have been completed on Curdies River Road, Timboon.
The project - which saw a section of gravel road sealed from just north of the Timboon Golf course to about 280 metres north of Colcott Street - came in under budget.
At the June Ordinary Meeting of Council, councillors approved the altered budget for the special charge scheme.
Shire manager assets and planning John Kelly said the initial estimate to the scheme were based on similar projects previously undertaken in the shire and market rates.
“Minor cost savings are proposed to be passed on to the property owners contributing to the scheme,” he said.
The estimated cost of the project was $220,500 with the final cost being $214,093.
The final cost to property owners was a total of $17,127.
“The sealing of Curdies River Road has improved the amenity of those living in the street and is considered to benefit the property owners,” Mr Kelly said.
“The project has been managed efficiently to ensure that residents making contributions are not financially disadvantaged.”
Councillors congratulated Mr Kelly on seeing the project come in under budget.
“It’s a good project, well done on getting it done under budget,” Cr Jamie Vogels said.
