TIMBOON was flush with cyclists this week as about 2500 spent the night as part of the Great Vic Bike Ride.
The ride started in Koroit on November 26.
Overnight stops are in Noorat (27), Timboon (28), Birregurra (29), Apollo Bay (two nights November 30 and December 1), Anglesea (2), Inverleigh (3rd) and finishing in Buninyong.
Bicycle Network chief executive officer Alison McCormack said the visit to the area was “fantastic”.
“We’re in luxury in Timboon, the oval is in pristine condition,” she said.
“We’ve got the music going, the stalls are here and we’re shuttling people into townas well.
“We’re really spruiking what’s on in Timboon.”
Ms McCormack said this year’s event had attracted about 2500 participants which range in age from 17 months to an 85 year old who makes the trip from Alice Springs each year.
“It’s a great event; we have people of all ages,” she said.
“We have a few families with three generations also.”
Ms McCormack thanked the community for being so welcoming.
The cyclists set up camp at the Timboon Recreation Reserve and neighbouring land in a virtual tent city with everything they might need on site on Monday.
