COBDEN and district residents dug deep on Friday to support Daffodil Day.

Local ladies Glenice Roberts, Val Maynard and Beryl Calloway spent much of the day manning a stall at the Curdie Street Arcade, with bunches of daffodils proving popular.

Mrs Roberts said the three local residents have been holding the fundraiser for about 15 years.

“We pick our own daffodils from good people who let us loose on their gardens,” she said.

“People are very supportive. We’ve all been touched by cancer.”

As well as bunches of daffodils there was also an assortment of pins and pens for sale.

Mrs Roberts paid tribute to the community for its ongoing support of the fundraiser.

“Thank you to community members for their support and a special thanks to the people who donate the daffodils,” she said.
