FEW people spend five decades working in the same business.
GreenCon Australia Pty Ltd employee Robert Love marked 50 years at the business recently.
He said the milestone had crept up on him.
“You just go day-to-day and then all of a sudden it’s 50 years,” Mr Love said.
He works as a concreter within the business.
Mr Love said he had enjoyed his job over the years.
“It’s good; it’s different all the time,” he said.
“It’s good work and a good company to work for.”
Greencon managing director James Green congratulated Mr Love on the milestone and thanked him for his dedication to the business over the years.
He said it was “fairly unusual” for someone to reach 50 years of employment at the one business in the construction industry.
“It’s been great to have him for 50 years,” Mr Green said.
“We have five that have reached 40 years and two that have reached 50 so far and Rob has just reached 50 years – it’s a fantastic effort.”
