THE last place you would expect to find a bull seal is probably Kennedys Creek.

However, for a local family on Sunday they got quite a surprise.

Property owner Veronica Wetemans said her daughter Karlie McGee noticed an unusual sight in a paddock.

“It was a bit of shock to the system for her,” Mrs Wetemans said.

“She was at the dairy and thought a cow had got in a paddock. Her and her husband went over and got a shock."

“It was a bull seal.”

The family’s dairy farm, some 30 minutes from the ocean, backs on to Kennedys Creek.

“It’s come up Kennedys Creek/Carlile River we think,” Mrs Wetemans said.

“Fisheries are hoping he’s going to go back to the ocean.”

She said the video footage of the bull seal wondering the paddock, was a bit of a surprise.

“My daughter said if she didn’t video it, no one would believe it,” Mrs Wetemans said.

“When she sent me the video I was like “what the heck?”.
