The Demons led by 10 points at quarter time before asserting their dominance, kicking six goals in the second quarter and eight in the third.

“After an even first quarter we really got to work and played our best footy in the second and third quarters,” Lismore/Derrinallum coach Alec Wiltshire said.

The 17.20.122 to 5.5.35 win at the Lismore Recreation Reserve gave the Demons a full suite of home wins in their eight home games split between Derrinallum and Lismore.

The highlight of the win occurred in the first minute of play, with Lachie Constable kicking his 100th goal of the season.

Forward Austin Humphrey, who had been ill all week, was moved to a deep forward position and kicked six goals.

Constable played further up the field, kicking three for the day.

Jack McCallum with two goals was the other multiple goal kicker.

Ruckman Henry Walsh continued his outstanding season, named as the Demons best.

“Henry was awesome, the metres gained from his hit outs would have been incredible,” Wiltshire said.

Wiltshire was also very impressed with the game of Hayden Brett.

“Hayden is just a tough player, he played on their best player in Joel Moriarty and did a fantastic job on him for three quarters.

“It was no coincidence that when we switched things around in the last quarter and took Hayden off him that Moriarty got right into the game and helped them have their best quarter.”

Wiltshire also praised Max McIntosh, saying he had great energy around the footy.

Alongside that trio, Blake Scott, Will Langley and Angus Grant were named in the Demons best.

Lismore/Derrinallum will sit back and watch the first week of the finals and will play the winner of tomorrow’s qualifying final between Ararat Eagles and Penshurst at Willaura on August 30.

In the reserves, Lismore/Derrinallum had a 12.15.87 to 5.1.31 win.

The Demons reserves also finished on top of the ladder and will have this week off.

Lachie McGavin, Ryan Marquand and Ryan Jeffrey were best for Lismore/Derrinallum in the win.

Jeffrey kicked four goals, with two each to Bradley Schiltz, Xavier Coutts and Laine Scott.

Lismore/Derrinallum had the bye in the under 16.5s football.

In the A grade netball, Lismore/Derrinallum scored a 44-34 win.

Alex Sheridan and Lila Sutterby were best for the Demons, with Emily Murray scoring 34 goals and Hannah Walker 10.

The A grade Demons finished the season in seventh position on the ladder.

Lismore/Derrinallum got the points in the B grade game with a 49-19 win.
