WHILE their seniors finished out of the five, Lismore Derrinallum’s reserve football side is finals bound.
The Demons’ reserves finished third on the Mininera League ladder, equal on points but percentage behind Woorndoo Mortlake.
They will now face the Tigers in tomorrow’s qualifying final at Tatyoon from 12 noon.
Last weekend’s final round of the home and away season saw the Demons take on Ararat.
Playing at home the Demons got off to a slow start, kicking one major for the opening term while the visitors slotted through four goals one.
The second term was a better one for the home team, adding three goals to get within 11 points by the main break.
Spectators were treated to some entertaining football in the second half, with both sides working hard to keep control of the ball and take advantage of possession in their forward lines.
Just eight points separated the sides on the final siren; Lismore Derrinallum 11.4.70 to Ararat 12.6.78.
Nicholas Schiemer, Josh Sanders, Charlie Brett, Steven Ryan and Lachie Constable were named among the best for the Demons.
Schiemer was impressive in front of goals, kicking four for the day, while Constable and Ruben Vesikuru added two each and Liam Rigby, Harry Taylor and Henry Walsh each contributed one.
The reserves capped off a strong home and away season with a well-deserved 99-point win over the Eagles, 16.7.103 to 0.5.5.
Riley Browne booted seven goals for the day and was named among the best alongside team-mates Robert Jamieson, Bradley Ward, Ryan Jeffrey, Lachlan Nelson and Matthew Bacon.
Other goal kickers were Jeffrey (3), Lachlan Nelson (2), Matthew Bacon, James Boag and Bradley Ward.
