TIMBOON’S senior footballers notched up win number three of the season, defeating Old Collegians by 34 points last weekend.

In front of a home crowd on Saturday, the Demons held strong from the first bounce, taking a 17-point lead into the second quarter and never looking back.

By the main break the home side had extended its lead to 21 points before a late comeback from Old Collegians in the third saw this reduced to just seven points going into the final term.

The Demons held strong in the final quarter, adding 4.3 to the scoreboard while keeping the visitors scoreless for the term.

Final scores were Timboon 10.10.70 to Old Collegians 5.6.36.

Best for the Demons were Ash Hunt, Samuel Newey, Lyndon Alsop, Mitchell Wallace, Oliver Stansfield and Ben Harding.

Harding booted four goals for the day while Marcus Hickey and Sam Negrello both kicked two, with singles from Kyle Delaney and Lachlan Rosolin.

With just two rounds of the home and away season remaining, the Demons will face South Rovers (again at home) this weekend before travelling to Panmure for round 18.

It was another tough day on the field for the Demons’ reserves, going down to Old Collegians by 29 points, 4.10.34 to 9.9.63.

Cody Noonan, Adrian Jilich, Jeremy Doolan, Christopher Moutray, Steven Crees and Richard Couch all worked hard for the Demons.

Goals went to Cory Collins (2), Moutray and Noonan.

Timboon’s under 18 side continued its strong season, holding firm on top of the league ladder (percentage above Kolora Noorat) following a win over Old Collegians last weekend.

Eben White kicked three goals for the game and was named in the best alongside Daniel Ryan, Lennox Tregea-Copeland, Taj Quarrell, Max Smith and Daniel Shanahan.

Other goals went to Nathan Ellemor (2), Troy Groves (2), Tregea-Copeland (2), Zeth Kerr and Jasper Makin.
