Demons winless

TIMBOON Demons are still yet to win a game after three rounds after losing 3.11 (29) to South Rovers 17.12 (114) at home on Saturday.
Playing coach Marcus “Barney” Hickey celebrated his 200th senior game for the club, but his side couldn’t manage to reward him with a win.
After a tough opening quarter the Demons trailed 1.2 (8) to 8.4 (52), and while the home side fought back in the second quarter with two goals to Rovers’ three they never got back into the game, unable to kick a goal in the second half.
Full forward Kyle Delaney kicked two goals for Timboon and was named in the votes, as was Sam Negrello with one goal.
Jordan Fowler was also in the best for his work in the midfield, as were on-baller Jack Gaut and half-forward Samuel Cole.
The Demons travel to Dennington next week to face another team without a win, and will no doubt be hoping to get four points on the board to get their season heading in the right direction.
In other games around the grounds, Nirranda beat Allansford by 103 points, Merrival won at Panmure, Old Collegians lost at home to Russells Creek, and Kolora-Noorat beat Dennington.
On the court, the Timboon netballers drew with South Rovers, making them 1-1-1 in their first three games and sitting in fifth on the ladder.
In other Warrnambool and Districts netball, Panmure lost to Merrivale, Dennington won at Kolora-Noorat, Old Collegians beat Russells Creek by two goals, and Nirranda beat Allansford 84-15.
