Diversity dash proves a success

STUDENTS made a desperate dash through a maze of colour in the name of diversity last week.
Terang College and Hampden Specialist School students participated in a Diversity Dash last week after months of weather-related postponements finally came to an end.
The diversity dash is an inclusive celebration through School Sport Victoria designed to celebrate the diversity within Victorian schools.
The students are able to walk, run, skip, jump, dance, roll or wheel their way through the colour-filled course. Whoever they are, however they want.
Holi powder scattered the course, and a barbecue lunch afterwards helped to raise funds for the annual Good Friday Appeal.
Terang College teacher Georgie Hall said the event was the perfect way for the students to end the term.
“We just wanted to have an inclusive, fun event to celebrate differences and bring everyone together,” she said.
“The kids had a great time; it’s been about a year in the making because we’ve had to postpone it a couple of times because of the weather.
“But it’s done and dusted, and it will definitely be back again next year.”
