Division Three Dragons defeated
BOORCAN'S Division Three cricketers had their first game for 2026, having a six wicket loss to Pomborneit Maroon.
Batting first in the round nine match at Boorcan, the Dragons posted a competitive 7/168 from their 40 overs.
A 105 run opening partnership between Roger Horspole and Michael Carman set up the total.
Horspole made 79 from 103 balls, hitting six fours and a six.
Carman scored 34 from 58 balls, with Tony Hassett contributing 29 from 31 balls down the order.
Despite Horspole claiming an early wicket, Maroon cruised to victory in the 24th over four wickets down.
The next game for the Division Three Dragons is on January 31, with Boorcan's Division Two team playing their first game for 2026 tomorrow against Heytesbury-Princetown Storm Purple at the Timboon High School Oval.
On Monday night, Boorcan’s under 13 team had a 43 run loss to Camperdown at Boorcan.
Camperdown batted first and made 5/90, with Boorcan restricted to 7/47 in reply.
The next game for the junior Dragons is on February 2.
