Division three Tigers lose to Lakers
WOORNDOO have the bye over the current split round in the Colac-South West premier cricket competition, the Tigers will play their next game on January 31.
The division three Tigers returned on Saturday, playing Camperdown at the Camperdown number two oval, going down in a high scoring clash.
Woorndoo batted first, with an opening partnership of 131 between Brendan Mahncke and Brody Mifsud setting up the eventual score of 5/227.
Mahncke top scored with 65 from 73 balls, hitting eight boundaries, with Mifsud scoring 50 off 60 balls, hitting seven boundaries.
In an exciting run chase, Camperdown lost their eighth wicket in the 33rd over with score at 207.
The Lakers managed to pass the score in the 36th over without further loss.
Teenager Sam Mahncke took 3/32 from five overs with the new ball, with Mitch Leske taking 3/21 from five overs.
Rhys Casson and William Cameron also took a wicket each in the loss.
This next game for Woorndoo’s division three team is on January 31 against Boorcan at Boorcan.
