Division two breaks through
BOORCAN’S division two cricketers registered their first win of the 2025/26 season with a two wicket win over Ecklin.
Ecklin batted first in the game at Boorcan, making 8/154 from their 40 overs.
New ball bowler Cain Mahony took 3/16 from six overs for the Dragons.
A thrilling run chase saw Boorcan pass the Frogs’ score eight wickets down with three balls to go.
Sam Hall played a key role at the end, making 25 not out to guide the team over the line.
Earlier, Luke Heffernan top scored for the Dragons with 27 and Alex Deane made 23.
This week Boorcan will host Heytesbury-Princetown Purple at Boorcan.
In division three, Boorcan had a five wicket loss to Cobden.
Opener Roger Horspole top scored with 27 from 72 balls in the Dragons total of 6/98.
Cobden passed the score in the 26th over, with Horspole and Michael Carmen taking two wickets each.
This week the division three Dragons play Ecklin at Ecklin.
Boorcan’s under 13s lost to Camperdown by 17 runs on Monday night.
This Monday the junior Dragons host Pomborneit at Boorcan.
